DVDance enters their 3rd season with an electrifying fusion of Eastern and Western dance styles brought fully to life on stage by a dynamic company of contemporary dancers. At the roots of DVDance is a dance company recognized for innovative and expressive works that explores the awareness of human expression and devoted to celebrating diversity and multiculturalism. DVDance not only celebrate artistic excellence in dance, but also produces and showcase the talent and multi-cultural diversity of artists in different mediums. Through breathtaking performances and our company’s involvement with other artistic endeavors, it is the company’s vision – to be able to give back to our community and provide opportunities for artists to grow and evolve in a supportive manner. DVDance takes pride in our collaborations with other arts organization and is thankful to share this moment with the audience.

Dominic V. Duong
Founder & Artistic Director
Dominic is described as a “hyper-kinetic” award winning dancer and choreographer by French Clements of SF Weekly, San Francisco. He was a recipient of “The Spirit of Dance Award” presented by Jim Tobin of BayAreaDanceWatch, a finalist in the first “A.W.A.R.D. Show!-2011 San Francisco” for his work, ‘Exurgency’, and “Written in Calligraphy: From Heaven to Earth” was honored by The American Dance Guild at the Alvin Ailey CitiGroup Theatre/NYC. His works have been presented at The Garage, MoveMENt, ODC Theater, RAW Concept Series, SpectorDance, WestWave, and also by internationally recognized choreographer, Yao Yong of YaoYong Dance. Dominic also worked with Emmy, Oscar and Tony Award winner, Shanda Sawyer, on the stage of Thuy Nga’s ‘Paris By Night’. A dancer with sjDANCEco since 2006, he was hailed during the company’s 5th Anniversary Season by Rita Felciano in the SJ Mercury News saying, “Throughout the evening, it was difficult to take your eyes off this lithe and beautifully trained artist who integrates Western dance and martial arts into his dance.” His work as a Stage Manager and Lighting Designer has earned him recognition on numerous Chinese and Vietnamese productions. In 2006, he was awarded Outstanding Graduation Senior and his solo, ‘Quietus’ was enthusiastically received at the ChoreoProject Awards in 2007 and later presented during sjDANCEco’s 5th Anniversary Season about which Ms. Felciano wrote.
Pearl C. Wang
Co-Founder & Visionary Director
Pearl began her dance journey in ballet at the age of three. Since then, she has trained at the Joffrey Ballet School, Yao Yong Dance, and UC Berkeley where she received her BA in Dance and Performance Studies. Pearl was principal dancer for Bay Area Repertory Dance Company where she performed in works such as Paul Taylor’s Esplanade and Jose Limon’s A Choreographic Offering. She Performed a leading role in Benjamin Levy’s pOrtal at the National College Dance Festival held at the Kennedy Center. Pearl has also danced principal roles with CAAM Chinese Dance Theater and Chinese Performing Artists of America on tours to Canada, Hawaii, Las Vegas, and New York. Pearl and Dominic began their collaboration in 2009, creating and performing many pieces together, including Crescent, Written in Calligraphy, and Density of Souls.
